Palm Desert Shut Out at CIF Baseball Championship

The Palm Desert High School baseball team lost to Bishop Amat in the Southern Section Division 4 championship game at Dodger Stadium. The Aztecs magical playoff run came to a close after a 7-0 loss to the Lancers. Rio Ruiz’s 2-run home-run blast broke a scoreless tie in the 3rd inning and Bishop Amat never looked back. The Aztecs had two good scoring chances in the first two innings, but Ryan Garvey was thrown out at home to end the 1st, and a double play ended a bases loaded situation for Palm Desert in the bottom of the 2nd. Palm Desert finishes their season with a team record 28 wins and 5 losses.
