One Shot Dead Near Desert Hot Springs

Riverside County sheriff’s are investigating the chain of events that led to a deadly shooting just south of Desert Hot Springs on Tuesday.

Deputies responded to a call reporting a domestic disturbance shortly before 2 p.m. at a home on the 15500 block of Avenida Mirola, which is just north of Dillon and in between Mountain View and Palm Drive, said spokesman Angel Ramos.

When authorities arrived, they found a man dead with gunshot wounds inside a van parked in a desert field a block away from Avenida Mirola.

The Sheriff’s Department has not detained anyone or made an arrest.
