2 ‘Dinah Shore Weekend’ Events Defect To Vegas
Girl Bar and Truck Stop Girlz, two of the three rival parties that take place in Palm Springs each year, are abandoning “Dinah Shore Weekend” and the Coachella Valley with their sights set on Las Vegas.
According to the Girl Bar website, dates for the Las Vegas event have yet to be announced.
The parties, which traditionally draw a mostly lesbian crowd, are scheduled to coincide with the Kraft-Nabisco LPGA Golf Tournament in nearby Rancho Mirage, which was formerly called “The Dinah Shore Golf Tournament.”
Mariah Hanson, the woman who began the original event — The Dinah — 22 years ago, said her event is still planned for Palm Springs, and she’s ready for a new challenge.
