PGA Standout Dustin Johnson ‘Teeing it up’ at 2012 Humana Challenge

The Humana Challenge field gets better by the day. On Friday, standout Dustin Johnson added his name to the growing list of impressive commits.

The no. 8 player in the world has solidified his plans for desert golf in 2012. Johnson is known for hitting the long ball. On average, his tee shots fly well over 300 yards. He enters the tournament as the highest ranked player in the field and remains one of the favorites to win in La Quinta.

DJ, making his first trip to the desert since 2009, joins two other top-15 players in the world. 11th ranked Matt Kuchar (a.k.a. “Mr. Consistency”) and 15th ranked Phil Mickelson (a.k.a. “Lefty”) have also committed to play in what has quickly become the tournament’s strongest field in years.

You can follow Dustin Johnson and the rest of your favorite golfers on KESQ through the week. The Best Local Sports Show with Spencer Linton and Greg Lee will have the most extensive local coverage and highlights from the 2012 Humana Challenge.
