3.4 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Near Brawley

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.4 in intensity shook an area near Brawley in Southern California on Wednesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The temblor hit at 11:05 a.m., and was centered about 4 miles south of Brawley, 6 miles north northeast of Imperial and 9 miles north of El Centro.

According to the USGS “Did You Feel It?” map, most of the responses came from the town of Brawley, where residents reported light shaking.

There was no report of any damage or injuries.
