Late Night House Fire Displaces 3 People

A fire broke out at an Indio home Wednesday night on the 83300 Block Dillon Avenue, near Palo Verde Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Firefighters got the call just after 9:30 PM.

Arriving crews found the home’s garage completely engulfed in flames and threatening nearby homes, said Riverside County Fire PIO Jody Hagemann. There were also downed power lines in the area.

Firefighters knocked down the flames in about half an hour, before they could damage any other buildings.

No injuries reported.

The damages did force an adult and two children from the home. The Red Cross was not needed to help them out.

Crews stayed on scene for about two hours to clean-up and investigate.
