Full Freeway Closure Planned For Interstate 10

A full freeway closure will take place on Interstate 10, so crews can make progress in their construction of a new overpass for Date Palm Drive.

The closures on both the eastbound and westbound sides are scheduled for Monday, Feb. 27, and Tuesday, Feb. 28, respectively at Date Palm Drive.

The eastbound side will be closed from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Feb. 27, and the westbound side will be closed from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Feb. 28.

A news release issued by the Coachella Valley Corridor Improvement Project indicates the purpose is to install falsework on the new bridge.

Motorists will be forced to take a slight detour, exiting at Date Palm Drive and re-entering using the Date Palm on-ramps.

There are signs directing motorists through this detour.
