Snowboarder Bandit Suspect in Indio Court

Michael Brandon Franks, suspected as the Snowboarder Bandit, appeared in an Indio court room Wednesday.

He was charged with 7 felony counts for allegedly robbing 3 valley banks.

Franks pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Franks is suspected of robbing a First California Bank in Palm Desert on May 4 and a Chase Bank in Rancho Mirage on April 11 and the April 20 robbery of a BBVA Compass branch in Palm Springs, according to the FBI.

Franks was previously arrested May 4, but only on charges of robbing banks in Orange County.

He was out on bail when he was arrested again on Friday.

Franks was charged May 8 in Orange County with 10 counts of robbery and two counts of attempted robbery in connection with 10 holdups at nine banks.

Franks was also suspected of robbing a bank in Ventura County, according to the FBI.

Franks is now being held at Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside on $500,000 dollars bail.
