Power is back on for 325 people in Mecca

Firefighters with the California Department of Forestry were battling a fire burning at Avenue 63 and Pierce Street Monday afternoon that resulted in power outages in the area, according to a fire department spokesperson.

Officials with Imperial Irrigation District power tell KESQ 325 customers were without power as a result of the fire, which was not threatening any structures. All power has been restored.

Firefighters were expected to gain quick control of the fire, which was burning in temperatures exceeding 110 degrees.
