News Anchor/Reporter, KESQ, Palm Desert, Calif.

If you’ve always dreamed of working in California, here’s your chance to make that dream a reality.

Gulf-California Broadcast Company (ABC, CBS, CW, FOX and Telemundo) is looking for two news anchor/reporters. We’re looking for talented, knowledgeable and personable people to anchor our #1 morning newscast (on KESQ) and anchor our weekend evening newscasts (on CBS Local 2).

We are market 145, but we don’t look like it OR act like it. We eat, sleep and breathe the news and sweeps happen 52 weeks a year. You can see the excellent work we do on our websites at www.kesq.com and www.cbslocal2.com.

Palm Springs is a great place to live. I came to work here from Iowa and the only way I’d leave is kicking and screaming. There aren’t a lot of places where you can wear shorts and flip flops in February, but NOT at work. And if you love golf, there’s a course on practically every street corner!

We’re looking for news anchors that can do more than read a TelePrompTer. We want people who can connect with our audience on the air, online and on social media. We also want anchors that aren’t afraid to get out from behind the anchor desk and do some hard news, enterprise reporting. Qualified candidates must have at least 1-2 years of real world broadcasting experience, a pleasing on-camera appearance and “go get ’em” attitude.

If you think you have what it takes to join our news team, send your resume and a link to your best work to: Bob Smith, News Director, Gulf-California Broadcast Company, 42-650 Melanie Place, Palm Desert, California, 92211. No phone calls, please.
