Man pulled from Indio pool in critical condition

A 43-year-old man was in critical condition after being pulled from a pool in Indio this afternoon, a county fire department spokeswoman said.

The near-drowning was reported shortly before 1:30 p.m. in the 48600 block of Andorra Street. The man was pulled out of the pool before firefighters
arrived, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Melody Hendrickson said.

The man, whose name was not released, was transported to a local hospital, she said.
