Suspect Involved In Struggle With Police Dies

A Palm Springs man who was involved in a confrontation with police last week has died.

The Riverside County Coroner’s Office released the details Monday, stating that 27 year old Joshua Sznaider died Sunday at Desert Regional Medical Center. Police believe Sznaider, may have been under the influence of drugs, when he was seen last Tuesday running in and out of traffic.

Police caught up to him and say that after a brief struggle with officers he stopped breathing. Officers on scene gave him CPR, and revived Sznaider who was then transported to Desert Regional Medical Center where he died.

3 officers also suffered injuries. None of the officers involved have been placed on Administrative leave. The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office will review the incident and decide if any further action is warranted.
