Cathedral City man arrested for stealing from neighbors

A Cathedral City man was jailed Wednesday night accused by police of breaking into neighborhood homes.

Officers arrested Kevin Hanson, 37, shortly after 11 p.m. after neighbors along the 68400 block of Concepcion Road reported a man jumping over walls and entering several backyards in the area.

Officers spotted Hanson a block away along the 68300 block of Marina Road minutes later and identified him as the suspect who’d been reported jumping walls.

Another resident then approached officers saying his home had just been broken into. That apparent victim described items taken during the burglary. Police say Hanson was carrying some of the items in question when he was detained.

Officers searched a nearby home on Concepcion Road where Hanson was living and located more stolen property.

Hanson was arrested for burglary and possession of stolen property.

Police say he also had additional arrest warrants out of San Bernardino County and a lengthy criminal history.

Hanson was booked into Riverside County Jail in Indio.
