Philanthropist Annette Bloch to receive star on Palm Springs Walk of Stars

Philanthropist Annette Bloch will receive the 351st star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars today.

The star at 110 N. Palm Canyon Drive will be unveiled at 3 p.m. Bloch, widow of H&R Block founder Richard Bloch, is a breast cancer survivor, president of the R.A. Bloch Cancer Foundation and oversees the Bloch Cancer Hotline.

Bloch established the Annette Bloch Cancer Care Center at the Desert AIDS Project in Palm Springs and the Richard and Annette Bloch Heart Rhythm Center, the Richard and Annette Bloch Cancer Care Pavilion, and the Richard and Annette Bloch Radiation Oncology Pavilion at the University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City.

Bloch is involved with the Palm Springs Art Museum, Jewish Family Services of the Desert and the Palm Springs International Film Festival.

Bloch has three daughters, seven grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren.
