Fire crews handle small fire in Thermal

Emergency crews make quick work putting out a small late afternoon brush fire in Thermal.

Cal fire says they got the call of a small blaze at the intersection of Filmore Street and 57th Avenue around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday evening.

When they got on scene, they discovered a small spot of brush, 20 feet by 30 feet, on fire. They were able to put out the flames in minutes, but were on scene for about an hour making sure the flames were all out.

Cal Fire says no structures in the area were ever threatened. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
