McCallum Theatre releases 2013-2014 schedule
New next season will be the inaugural Palm Desert International DanceFestival in November, which will feature three dance companies.
The featured musicals are the Tony Award-winning “Million DollarQuartet”; `Hello, Dolly!” starring Sally Struthers; and “Frida, theMusical” about the life of artist Frida Kahlo.
The season’s offerings include Luis Bravo’s “Forever Tango”; aChristmas show with Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack; the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber;the Tony-winning play “Peter and the Starcatcher”; trumpeter Chris Botti;”Food Network” host Alton Brown; animal expert Jack Hanna; and “DogWhisperer” Cesar Millan.
The Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra will take the McCallum stage, aswill the Ten Tenors from Australia; Frank Sinatra Jr., Tony winner ChitaRivera, singer Michael Feinstein and Oscar-winning actress Shirley MacLaine.
“Palm Springs Legends” will pay tribute to such stars as Lucille Ball,Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, Liberace, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatraand Red Skelton.
