CHP to simulate DUI accident at high school

The California Highway Patrol and other lawenforcement agencies will simulate an alcohol-related crash tomorrow, and againon Thursday, at Moreno Valley High School.

The simulations are part of the CHP’s “Every 15 Minutes” program,which is designed to show teenagers the dangers of driving under the influenceof alcohol and other controlled substances.

The name comes from the fact that every 15 minutes, someone in theUnited States dies from an alcohol-related crash, CHP officer Steve Carapiasaid.

The reenactment will include a 911 call broadcast over the publicaddress system and responses by the Moreno Valley police and fire departments,CHP and other emergency agencies, Carapia said.
