Man arrested in Palm Desert after hitting parked car

A 49-year-old Desert Hot Springs man who allegedlydrove drunk and struck a parked vehicle and a planter was arrested today.

The crash was reported around 11 p.m. Sunday near Monterey Avenue andDinah Shore Drive in Palm Desert. Timothy Lee Hill was driving a VolkswagenJetta west on an access road through the parking lot between Walmart and AshleyFurniture, struck a vehicle and then a planter, sheriff’s Sgt. Patrick Carrollsaid.

No one was hurt.

Hill was arrested at 12:05 a.m. on suspicion of DUI and booked into thecounty jail in Indio. He was released after posting a $2,500 bond, according tojail records.
