Teen shot to death in Desert Hot Springs

A teen died in Desert Hot Springs Wednesday after being shot in what authorities believe was a gang-related incident.

19-year-old Tristan Imwald was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center after being dropped off at the fire station located at West Drive and Pierson Boulevard with the gunshot wound.

Officers and detectives were able to locate the scene of the incident on the 11000 Block ofFoxdale Drive. The investigation is ongoing and anyone withinformation regarding this incident is asked to contact Detective Cole at 760-329-6411 x294.

Information on why authorities believe the killing was gang related was not released.
