Fire near HWY 74 in Palm Desert destroys barn
A fire broke out just off HWY 74 in Palm Desert this afternoon, burning one barn to the ground.
The fire was reported at 12:39, and burned near the Palm Desert Visitor Center and the Bighorn Institute.
The fire appears to have been put out shortly before 1 p.m. Cal Fire said firefighters will remain on scene for “several hours” to work on cleanup and overhaul.
