Flood warning in effect until 7:15 p.m.

The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued a flash flood warning for west-central Riverside County. It is in effect until 7:15 p.m.

According to CHP, the area around State Route 243 and Twin Pines experienced the worst of it, with minor mudslides reported, plus water and debris in the roadway.

UPDATE (5:28 p.m.) – HWY 243 has been reopened.

UPDATE (5:20 p.m.) – Firefighters have responded to reports of “significant flooding” in the area of the Silent Valley RV Park in the community of Poppet Flats.

UPDATE (4:45 p.m.) – CHP has shut off State Route 243 at around 4:45 p.m. due to flooding in the mountain area.
