Local businesses looking forward to lucrative Labor Day weekend

It’s Labor Day weekend, the unofficial end of summer and it’s usually lucrative for local businesses, coming off the traditionally slower months of the year.

In Palm Springs, things couldn’t be any better at the Rendezvous Bed and Breakfast. All 10 rooms on the property are booked for the weekend.

On Palm Canyon Drive, the Las Casuelas Terraza Restaurant is gearing up for a busy weekend. When the Labor Day holiday rolls around each year, they know the dog days of summer are behind them.

“This is a great jolt for the community, a great jolt for us,” said Patrick Service, general manager of Las Casuelas Terraza. “We’re about as staffed as we would be for Biker Weekend or spring break. We expect a lot this weekend. We expect a change of pace, it’s sort of a nice culmination for summer for us.”

Once again, it’s expected the drive-in market will make up a big part of the people who visit the valley this weekend.
