VillageFest begins fall hours Thursday

Palm Springs VillageFest, the city’s weekly street festival, will start its fall hours Thursday.

The festival, which is held every Thursday night on Palm Canyon Drive between Baristo and Amado roads, will start at 6 p.m. instead of 7 p.m. The event ends at 10 p.m. year-round.

On Oct. 31, the annual Halloween Spook-tacular will be held at VillageFest, featuring live entertainment, trick-or-treating, a pumpkin patch and a costume contest for children, city spokeswoman Amy Blaisdell said.

VillageFest, which has been held for more than 20 years, has more than 200 booths with art, crafts and food. Shops, boutiques, galleries and restaurants stay open late during VillageFest.
