2 quakes shake Coachella Valley

3.7 quake strikes near Idyllwild says USGS. The quake was centered 4 Kilometers South Southwest of Idyllwild and struck just before 3:45 p.m. No reports of damage or injuries. Callers from all over the valley called to report feeling the quake.

Earlier Monday morning at 10:33 a.m. an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.3 rocked the mountains south of the Coachella Valley. The epicenter was about 18 miles south of La Quinta, or 9 miles north of Borrego Springs, near the Riverside-San Diego County line, according to the Southern California Earthquake Center. Sheriff’s dispatchers confirmed there were no reports of damage.
