Angel View client takes tour of his dreams

Greg Bryan, 39, of Desert Hot Springs has spina bifida and is a client of Angel View of the Desert. He’s got a set of wheels of his own, but he love buses.

“Being on a bus, now there’s something to talk about,” said Bryan.

Charlene Hancock, Bryan’s longtime friend and former high school bus aide, said he’s got a gift, knowledge and love for mechanics and technology. Hancock said he saved her life 20 years ago when she herself was on a bus.

“He said the air conditioning was out. We got that fixed,” said Hancock. “Then he said something is wrong with the engine. I had a mechanic look at it and the bus would’ve exploded. Twice he saved our lives on the bus.”

Now Hancock is paying it forward. She helped setup a special tour of SunLine Transit Agency for Bryan and a meet and greet with the guys who keep the engines running.

“She’s a sweetheart for bringing me here, wanting me to be here,” said Bryan.

Greg may not be able to drive one of the buses, but that doesn’t stop him from looking and learning.

“I think it’s great we can allow him to at least see how things are done,” said Mike Morrow, SunLine director of maintenance.

“It was a dream come true. If it wouldn’t have been set up, I wouldn’t have gotten to be here,” said Bryan.
