4 displaced after house fire in DHS

A house fire has been contained in Desert Hot Springs but four people have been displaced.

The fire sparked in the 15500 block of Avenida Atezada just after 5 p.m. Heavy flames were seen from the outside of the home by firefighters arriving to the scene.

A total of 22 firefighters were able to extinguish the flames by 5:24 p.m., according to Cal Fire.

Two adults and two children have been displaced by the fire and the American Red Cross is assisting them. Nobody was injured.

Firefighters say the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
