All roads back open following windy weather
A wind advisory was in effect until 2 pm Sunday creating low visibility and dangerous driving conditions on Coachella Valley Roads. Gene Autry Trail and Vista Chino were both closed around 12 p.m. due to zero visibility from blowing sand.
Gene Autry Trail reopened to traffic around 3 p.m. and Vista Chino was back open shortly after 5 p.m., according to Palm Springs police.
A passing trough of low pressure brought gusty westerly winds to the mountains and deserts through midday on Sunday.
Slow down and use caution when visibility is low.
