National survey lists America’s best supermarkets
After a month long review process and national survey, The Daily Meal, a website covering food and drink topics, has compiled a list of the best supermarkets in America.
To remain objective, editors didn’t want to base the results on each grocery store’s highest profits or number of locations.
According to Recipe Editor Emily Jacobs, they set out to find which market serves its customers the best, and most importantly, which store keeps its patrons happy, well-fed, and coming back week after week.
The following are The Daily Meal’s Top 10 Supermarkets in America:
#1 Trader Joe’s #2 Whole Foods Markets #3 Costco Wholesale #4 Publix #5 Stew Leonard’s #6 Wegmans #7 Food Bazaar Supermarkets #8 Stop & Shop #9 SuperTarget #10 Walmart Supercenters
The Daily Meal turned to an expert panel to help determine the best of the best. The company asked panelists to consider different criteria, including quality and range of products, cleanliness, customer service, availability of products, and price.
The website then conducted a national survey made up of 100 nominees selected by the panel, and turned to social media to come up with a conclusive list of the nation’s 30 best supermarkets.
Ralphs came in at #22.
