Firefighters respond to blaze at home in Thousand Palms

An abandoned home in Thousand Palms was in flames Monday morning, and firefighters were working to save it, a Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman said.

The fire in the 31900 block of Taylor’s Road at Ramon Road was reported at 4:19 a.m., said Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann.

“The first arriving engine company reported an abandoned 2,000-square-foot single-family home with smoke and flames visible,”Hagemann said.

Twenty-one firefighters were on scene battling the flames, she said.
