Desert Chiefs host Desert Bowl Benefit

The Desert Chiefs replaced the hard hits for a helpful hand on Saturday hosting the inaugural Desert Bowl at Desert Hot Springs High School this afternoon. The event benefited the Desert Hot Springs Junior All American Football and Cheer teams. The Chiefs, as well as other semi-pro and youth teams from Southern California took the field play a little 7-on-7 football for a good cause.

Owner Rosie Welmas says she plans on making the Desert Bowl an annual event that will involve more youth football teams throughout the years so they can participate and raise money for their teams.

In addition to football, there was the Believing for Desi 5K run to help 4-year old Desirae who has been diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma.
