Free legal help coming to Palm Springs

Starting next month, local attorneys will offer free legal services to low-income residents at the Palm Springs Public Library, a library spokeswoman said Wednesday.

Those who qualify can meet privately with an attorney practicing family or civil law and, in some cases, get help with filing legal documents.

Starting July 8, lawyers will be available the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., library spokeswoman Julie Warren said.

Those seeking legal help first need to make sure they qualify for the free program sponsored by Riverside Legal Aid. To make an appointment, call (760) 347-9456. More information is online at www.riversidelegalaid.org.
