Deadly early morning crash in Beaumont

Investigators say they believe speeding was a factor in a deadly crash early Saturday morning on the 60 freeway in Beaumont.

California Highway Patrol tell us a 22-year-old man was driving a 2014 Honda accord around 90 miles an hour just before 4:30 Saturday morning on the 60 just west of Jack Rabbit Trail.

Officers say he lost control and ran off the road. He died as a result of his injuries.

A passenger in the car sustained moderate injuries.

Both victim’s identities are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol played a factor in the wreck..
