Police investigate suspicious death in Indio

An investigation was underway Tuesday into the death of a man whose body was found in Indio, officials said.

The man’s body was discovered Monday in the 45700 block of Towne Street,
and the time of death was listed as 7:56 p.m., according to the Riverside
County Coroner’s Office.

Indio police spokesman Sgt. Dan Marshall said when more was known about the man’s death, “we can classify if it’s suspicious, accidental, natural or a homicide.”

His name was withheld pending notification of next-of-kin, according to
the coroner’s office.
