Kids taken to hospital with heat-related illness

Emergency responders were called Tuesday morning after five kids complained of a heat-related illness in Coachella.

Deputies with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said several kids with the Cadet Academy were watching a demonstration being held at Bobby G. Duke Middle School, located at 85358 Bagdad St.

Emergency responders showed up around 10:40 a.m. after a boy with asthma said he was feeling lightheaded.

Once paramedics began treating the child, other kids came forward to say they were also feeling lightheaded. All of the children were treated at the hospital and released.

News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 are working to confirm more information from Tuesday morning’s incident.
