Pedestrian seriously injured in Bermuda Dunes hit and run crash

The California Highway Patrol is looking for a driver who fled the scene after crashing into a pedestrian who was walking along Country Club Drive early Wednesday morning.

According to a CHP release, 51 year old Bermuda Dunes resident Larry Morris was walking eastbound on the north shoulder of Country Club Drive, east of Adams Street, at about 3:45 a.m.

A vehicle described as a green, 90’s-style Ford Explorer was traveling westbound on Country Club Drive when the driver drifted to the right shoulder of the road, striking Morris.

CHP said the driver of the Ford drove off, leaving Morris seriously injured in the road.

Morris was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center. There was no additional information regarding his condition.

Officers said the Ford involved in the hit and run may have damage to its front right side. Anyone with information is asked to call the Indio CHP Office at (760) 772-8911.
