Indio CHP Officer in court for assault charges

On the heels of two Indio Police Officers being arrested for allegedly assaulting a suspect during an arrest last month, we are learning of a new case against a valley law enforcement officer.

According to court records, Christopher Lang III on June 21st, 2014 allegedly assaulted an unnamed person under the color of authority. The charge is listed as a misdemeanor.

CHP Spokesman Mike Radford of the Indio Office, confirms that Lang is a patrol officer at the Indio Station.

According to DA spokesperson John Hall, Lang was scheduled to be in court today in Indio, for a pre-trial hearing, but it was continued to January 6th of next year, he also did not appear in person, but his attorney was present.
