La Quinta man accused of DUI, hitting person in parking lot

A La Quinta man is charged with driving drunk and hitting someone in a parking lot Saturday evening, police say.

The man, 26-year-old Ramon Cordova, was parking his car when he hit a person in a parking lot at the 49000 block of Highway 111 in Indian Wells, says Sergeant Andy Martinez with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Cordova was driving under the influence with a suspended license, according to Sgt. Martinez.

Cordova was arrested and later booked at the Riverside County Jail in Indio.

The person was not hurt, but was taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution and medical evaluation.
