Woman wins $1M jackpot in Temecula

An Inland Empire woman is a million dollars richer thanks to a lucky play at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, Thursday.

Marian Williams of Rancho Cucamonga decided to try her hand on a slot machine before going home to cook her family’s Thanksgiving meal Thursday morning. The little predawn excursion reaped a seven-figure reward.

After spending 10 minutes and $28 on the Gold Double Series machine, Williams hit the jackpot, winning $1,039,964, according to casino officials.

“I could not believe it,” Williams said. “I really feel so blessed. And for this to happen on Thanksgiving — it’s awesome!”

According to Pechanga, it’s the fourth time in as many years a million-plus-dollar payout has been made on one of the casino’s Gold Series machines.

When asked what she planned to do with her winnings, Williams replied, “I’ll probably share it.”
