Three wounded in Cathedral City shooting

Police responded to reports of a shooting just before ten o’clock Friday night in the area of Ave El Mundo and Baristo Rd.

As police got one scene they found three people with gunshot wounds. Officers were on scene immediately and found the crime scene in the area of the 31450 block of Sky Blue Water.

Friends and family of the victims were rendering aid when police arrived, but police say they were uncooperative with law enforcement on scene.

Along with the victims who were shot, there were a number of other bullet holes at the home on the scene of the shooting.

Police say there may have been a party going on at the residence of the shooting, where the victims were outside in the drive way. Police say the shooters may have walked up, and opened fire.

The victims stated this assault was unprovoked and refused to provide any information regarding why they believed they were targeted.

The victims were rushed to Desert Regional Medical Center serious/critical condition by Cathedral City Fire Department. None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening. No information will be given regarding the victims’ identity for their protection.

Police are withholding the names of the victims, but did give out this information. One victim was a 33 year old white man. The other two were 23 year old and 21 year old hispanic men. All three are residents of Cathedral City.
