Missing Yucca Valley man found in Texas
UPDATE: Abney’s son contacted us saying his father was found near Amarillo, Texas, in fairly good condition. He says “thank you” to everyone who helped in the search.

Police are looking for a Yucca Valley man who went missing on Christmas Eve.
San Barnardino County Sheriff’s Department, Morongo Basin Station officers say 85-year-old Dean Abney driving his car in route to get a haircut at the Elite Cosmetology School in the Town of Yucca Valley. Abney did not return home.
His wife reported him missing just before 7 p.m., at which time the sheriff’s department started an immediate search of the area utilizing patrol personnel, sheriff’s aviation, and search and rescue.
Abney was last seen driving a Beige, 2004 Toyota Camry with Oregon License Plate #CK73530.
He is described as white, 5’8″, 200 lbs, with gray hair and hazel eyes.
The sheriff’s department and other agencies are continuing search efforts and are asking for the public’s help with any information regarding Abney’s whereabouts. Any information please contact the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station Detectives Division at (760) 366-4175.
