Freeze & Hard Freeze Warnings in effect for desert areas

A very cold air mass will bring overnight temperatures down 10-20 degrees below average over the next several nights.

Freeze warnings are in effect for the Coachella Valley and inland areas to the west through the Banning Pass through 8 am Thursday.
Below freezing temperatures and frost will be possible for several hours. Be sure to bring pets indoors and protect sensitive plants.

Hard Freeze Warnings are in effect for the high desert cities along Highway 62. Temperatures are expected to drop into the teens for several hours in wind sheltered locations, which can cause exposed pipes to freeze and burst if left unprotected.
