Sinatra limo to go to auction

Frank Sinatra’s 1986 Chrysler LeBaron limousine will be up for sale at the Feb. 20-22 Keith McCormick’s Palm Springs Collector Car Auction. After Sinatra used it for years, “It was gifted to his housekeeper of 30 years in 1995,” said Jason McCormick.

The dark blue limo had 6,568 miles on it at the time of the transfer and the car has been kept in a garage for years. The odometer currently shows 77,174 miles. As important to some collectors as the car itself is all the paperwork and documentation with Frank Sinatra’s signature, including a bill of sale and a registration card.

There is no reserve on the car, meaning no minimum price required to buy it. “The car will be sold,” said Keith McCormick.

The three-day weekend auction is set for Feb. 20-22 at the Spa Resort Casino in downtown Palm Springs. The auction is free and open to the public on Friday, Feb. 20. For more information about the car (Lot # 304) and details about the auction www.classic-carauction.com.

We asked Barbara Sinatra what she thought about the sale.Barbara says the limo was a gift to both her and Frank from Lee Iacocca. ” It is about time she auctioned it off,” says Sinatra. “Both Frank and I enjoyed that limo, and we are so glad she also enjoyed the limo as well.”
