Indio man arrested for DUI, hitting cop car
An Indio man is in jail after hitting a parked police car in Indio Sunday morning, police say.
Police say 20-year-old Luis Ramirez of Indio side swiped a legally-parked police car while an officer was getting in his cruiser near Monroe and Miles.
Ramirez did not stop and took off in his Chrysler 300, police say.
Assisting officers located Ramirez, arresting him for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol and hit and run.
The police car had major damage in the incident.
No one was hurt in the collision.
