Deputies search for armed robber in 29 Palms

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the Adobe Smoke Shop on Tuesday afternoon. Deputies from the Morongo Basin Station were called to the smoke shop, located at 6441 Adobe Rd., shortly after 1 p.m.

According to the sheriff’s release, a black man wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt, black jeans and a black bandana over his face, walked into the smoke shop with a gun.

The suspect demanded money from the clerk. Fearing for her safety, the clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of cash, deputies said in the release.

The suspect put the money in a black bag and ran from the store. It’s unknown if he escaped in a vehicle. Deputies and detectives searched the area but weren’t able to find him. However, they did find evidence at the smoke shop but they haven’t elaborated on that yet.

The suspect is described as a black man, 20 to 30-years-old, about 5’8″ to 6′ tall and close to 200 lbs.

Detectives ask anyone with information about the robbery or identity of the suspect to call them at the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station at 760-366-4175.
