Local celebrity Suzanne Somers to compete on ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Eleven cast members for the upcoming season of ABC’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’ were announced Tuesday on ‘Good Morning America’, and one of the dancers this season is a local resident of the desert.

Suzanne Somers is joining an all-star list of actors, singers and athletes for the series’ 20th season. Only eleven dancers were announced Tuesday morning as the 12th contestant will be announced at a later date.

‘Shark Tank’ cast member Robert Herjavec
Former University of Missouri football star Michael Sam, who made headlines for announcing he was gay in 2014
Noah Galloway, who lost his arm above the elbow and left leg above the knee in an improvised explosive device attack when he was in the Army serving in Iraq, he’s become a personal trainer and motivational speaker

The spring season premier of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ takes place March 16.
