Paul Lewin will not run for Mayor

Palm Springs City Councilman Paul Lewin has decided he will not run for Mayor, and that he will seek a 2nd term for his council seat in the November election, says campaign spokesperson Jeff Hocker.

It was heavily rumored that Lewin was considering running for mayor, after Mayor Steve Pougnet announced he would not seek another term. Pougnet’s decision was announced after reports he had a conflict of interest with a Palm Springs Developer, and is now under investigation by the FPPC. Pougnet stated at a recent city council meeting that he had known for a long time that he would not seek another term.

Ginny Foat is the only current sitting council member to announce she will run for mayor. Councilman Rick Hutchinson has announced he won’t seek another term.
