Michelle Obama departs desert

First Lady Michelle Obama has taken off from Palm Springs International Airport after spending the weekend in the Coachella Valley. She opened the 2015 Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

Her flight departed on Tuesday around 12:15 p.m.

Viewers called KESQ and CBS Local 2 on Friday saying traffic was stopped just before 11 p.m. at Da Vall Drive and Dinah Shore Drive for what looked like a presidential motorcade.

We got word Mrs. Obama may have been staying in Rancho Mirage, but we never received official confirmation from the White House.
