Shopping or snow, how did you spend Black Friday?

Which is more fun, to head to the store and save money on Black Friday deals or drive to the mountains to play in the snow?

KESQ asked dozens of people what they did for Black Friday and it was a pretty even split between those two options.

With the stores offering lots of great deals and fresh powder on the mountain there was a lot to enjoy the day after Thanksgiving.

“So I wanted to just check out some deals and see what’s going, on there’s nothing specific in there I want honestly, I just came out to see if something catches my eye,” said Andre Brown who was shopping at the Best Buy in Palm Desert.

Some people took a break from the hustle of holiday shopping and went up the mountains for some cold fresh air.

“We don’t want to shop, people are shoulder checking each other they are getting vicious today,” said Lissette Menjivar who was coming down Highway 74 with her family after traveling up the mountain.

“They are just wasting time trying to buy things. It’s better to look out in nature than going shopping, it’s just luxury, it doesn’t really matter to get an iPad or something,” said Sarai Jaimenez.

If you are heading up to the mountains this weekend you better be prepared for some slick roads, and officers with the California Highway Patrol say you should have chains in your trunk just in case.
