Coachella man arrested on kidnapping, false imprisonment charges

A man who allegedly held a woman against her will inside a Coachella home today was arrested for kidnapping and domestic violence-related charges, according to sheriff’s deputies.

Angel Gomez, 33, of Coachella, was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping
related to domestic violence, false imprisonment, and violating a domestic
violence restraining order and was booked at the Riverside County jail in
Indio, said sheriff’s Sgt. Andrew Nielsen.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a domestic violence call at about 8:30
a.m. at a home in the 53000 block of Tyler Street, where Gomez was holding
someone against their will inside the house, Nielsen said.

Gomez soon surrendered to police outside the home. The woman was found
unharmed inside the house. Deputies did not disclose the relationship between
Gomez and the woman.
