Indian Wells Ralph’s to close this summer

It’s been a mainstay in Indian Wells for decades, but confirmation came Friday that the only grocery store in that city is closing.

Management confirmed to CBS Local 2 and KESQ that the Ralph’s grocery store at the corner of Highway 111 and Cook Street will go out of business on July 1.

Ralph’s anchors The Village at Indian Wells, which also features a CVS pharmacy, Eureka Burger and Don Diego’s Mexican restaurant. No word on what will take it’s place, or when that will happen.

“As people are walking from Savon’s (CVS) to Ralph’s they’ll see a beauty salon and they’ll stop and say, ‘can I get a haircut?'” says Sonya Boyster, who owns The Village Salon. “It’s going to be really hard on us not to have walk in traffic.”
